Curious, passionate and in relentless pursuit of chef stories, nothing is off-limits with

Founder, Creator and Interviewer, Heidi Small.

With years of experience, she chases adventure  using her chef roster that spans the globe. No two chefs are alike, and Heidi captures this with the camera’s lens and her infectious spirit.

After a ten-year career securing luxury Montreal housing for the Hollywood film industry A-listers and luminaries, this work catapulted the dynamic Small into the epicenter of various social and cultural circles in Montreal and secured for her a fortuitous niche in the city’s then-nascent restaurant renaissance.

In 2018, her passion for food and the industry-led Heidi to the Montreal Gazette where she spent a year and a half as a columnist at The Gazette writing and hosting her popular “Beyond the Plate” column and 15-episode YouTube chef series. The culinary aficionado later served up her scrumptious, up-close-and-personal monthly portraits to the delight of tens of thousands of hungry Montrealers as well as foodies far afield on celebrated magazine Canada’s 100 Best, and on CTV Montreal.

Small, a proud mother of three, also wears another hat; one she is intensely proud of.

Spurred on by her late father’s memory, Heidi is a tireless crusader for the cause of

curing brain cancer. Her annual A Brilliant Night (abrilliantnight.ca) events have raised

millions for groundbreaking glioblastoma research at the Montreal Neurological

Institute and Hospital of McGill University.

She believes Oprah Winfrey said it best: “Luck is preparation meeting the moment of

opportunity.”
